Apink is one of my favorites. Catchyupbeat music and lyrics a Eunji can
sing her butt off. Love all those girls, but my all time favorite bias is
Chorong. She is sooooo sweet!

Anywa, now the bad side. I’ve been to South Korea several times. I’ve
been to China Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, etc… Singapore is pretty
diverse, and I give them props for that. Not much overt racism there.
Japan is not openly racist. They embrace other cultures. Hong
Kong/China….a lot of racism there. Korea? Oh yeah, a lot of racism.

Now, let’s be honest about racism. Most of what we were calling racism is
just A-holes trying to lash out and hurt other people because their widdle
feewings got hurted. Well, that’s just plain douchebaggery, not real
racism. Most of that was faux racism meant to hurt people’s feelings.
Misery loves company.

So let’s talk about real racism. Know this. If Tiffany had a black
parent, and tried out for SNSD, she wouldn’t have made it. Period. If her
mother was white…and that was made known, she would not have made it.
See…her mom is white, but Tiffany can’t say anything. She had to make up
stories. her first story was that her mother was far far away as she put
it. Not dead…just not around to be talked to. Later, she corrected that
to she has been dead a long time. All along she hated talking about her
mom. When asked about her mother, she would talk about her dad, or her
parents. Like, “Tiffany, how does your mother feel about your success?”
Well, my parents always want the best for me. Next question.” She can’t
talk about it because her mother is white. She’s lucky enough that she
takes more after her dad’s side. I have many half Korean friends. Some
take more after their white parent, and some take so much after their
Korean parent, you wouldn’t question them if they said both parents are
Korean.

American Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors have been in that country for over 60
years. American, Australian, Canadian, German, British and French, etc,
businessmen have been there for decades. Many of these men have children
with Korean women but leave the mom and child there. It’s been going on
for more than half a century. These unions tend to produce beautiful
children…children that often naturally look like Kpop Stars without a
need for surgery. in short, I guarantee you that there are many of these
mixed children became Kpop stars. But they can’t proudly stand there on
stage and admit that.

It is hypocritical to rant about a few internet idiots and racists without
confronting the Korean people and Kpop companies about their racism.

I love SNSD! It infuriated me to learn of this happening but after some
reflection “haters gonna hate” right? There will always be ignorance and
hand in hand with that racism. I just hope the girls have broad shoulders
for this and don’t take it to heart.
Girls Generation crosses language and culture barriers and they were
recognized for it, their work of unity should be accentuated far more than
the words of a few trolls.

I totally agree with you. If they wanted their artist to win, they should
have vote them more! They should not curse GG without knowing them. I was
so mad reading their insulting racist comments about GG, as an Asian and a
fan of kpop. Do not think that because you don’t know who they are that
people all around the world don’t know them too. GG is enjoying a
tremendous popularity in Asia.
