hard because she isn’t Taeyeon but she reaches notes and we must applaud
her for that, but I have a question: It is assumed that after Taeyeon, the
best voice is Jessica. Well one day I saw a video of Genie and Taeyeon
wasn’t there…

@deluvuful I’ve watched probably 80-90% of all of SNSD’s live perfomances
and she can sing the low notes. She’s not strong down there like Tiffany
but she reaches them nice and soft. Which is perfect for someone who is not
a alto. (Tiffany is an Alto)
I actually like her line at Genie it’s just that for some reason you can’t
really hear her

song, could Jessica cover her ad-libs? I remember hearing Sunny and Tiffany
sing Gee by themselves, including Taeyeon and Jessica’s parts. Anyway,
Jessica usually sucks at her line in Genie, but when she sang Tae’s line,
it didn’t sound that bad :|. It actually sounded better than when Jessica
sings her own line. IDK…Jessica’s just unique like that.

You really can’t compare Taeyeon and Jessica. They have very different
timbres and strengths. But they’re still both amazing singers.
Jessica is a pretty good singer in the Kpop industry, considering the fact
that not many can sing out of all the idol groups. She isn’t as good as
Davichi or the brilliant singers out there, but she’s pretty good. The
reason why people can’t see that is because of her thin voice. She has
pretty commendable techniques when she sings(though she sometimes go easy
on them). Just imagine her with Taeyeon’s voice, but her own techniques &
style & you’ll realize she’s quite a good singer.
jessica is my bias babe,,no i dont mean to bring it up,,i just reply a
comment that saying sica,maybe, will crack her voice in the near future,,so
i assume that the one who make this comment doesn’t know that sica ever
cracked once,,i just think i should give an info by writing “she cracked
once”
because of Taeyeon and Jessicas vocals… and Seohyun, Sunny, Tiffany and
sometimes Sooyoung’s… I think SNSD is one of the top vocal groups…
along with Spica, BEG, and obviously Divichi, and The Seeya… I hate how
people say they’re untalented just because they’re in SM…

I think Sica’s voice can be as powerful as Taeyeon. She just needs to push
a little more.
there’s only one time i heard her a bit off. i wouldn’t consider that perf
unstable but she cracked her voice once. other than that, she is very
consistent.

Sica’s voice is so recognizable sometimes it annoys me how very distinct it
is. LOL But Sica’s and Tayeon’s voice has to be the best for me.

Jessica can reach higher notes than Taeyeon, right? I like Taeyeon’s strong
voice but I like Jessica’s sweet voice more. Taeyeon and Jessica are both
great singers.

@cherrinkim You do know that Taeyeon’s voice gets less powerful as she goes
higher, right? The highest note she ever reach was an F5 and it wasn’t even
a powerful note she sang. It was squeaky and weak. Jessica can go much
higher than Taeyeon considering she wasn’t straining when singing her
highest note in ITNW, F#5. When singing high notes above E5, Taeyeon isn’t
in Jessica’s league at all. Taeyeon is more comfortable singing in Mezzo’s
notes while Jessica, more in soprano notes.

For those of you arguing, Taeyeon is definitely the better vocalist. No,
I’m not biased. Yes, Jessica’s highest full note voice is higher than
Taeyeon’s highest, and it’s only a semitone higher. Both of them strain.
Tae gets tense at C#5, and Sica gets tense around B4/C5 which isn’t much of
a difference. The biggest thing that sets them apart is resonance. Tae has
made occasional resonant notes, and Sica has never resonated.

Taeyeon’s best vocal performances was when she sang O Holy Night and Lost
in Love like you said. She even resonated an E5 in O Holy Night. Jessica’s
best vocal performance was Heaven when she sang with Tiffany. (Tiffany has
no “best vocal performance”.) No, they get tense at the area. It’s Hyorin
that is good up until D5. Jessica can’t be resonant because she doesn’t
sing with a raised soft palate, but Taeyeon can.
