that’s because she was sick for most of the whole trip to new york. and if
that’s not reason enough for you, it doesn’t necessarily mean that if
you’re the leader, you get to speak more. the members don’t depend on
taeyeon like that, they could speak for themselves. plus, it’ll look pretty
scripted if taeyeon did all the talking.

they CAN speak english, but it’s more comfortable for they & for the other

Three of nine are American Koreans. Two others can speak English fluently.
But yes, it is still jarring to hear them switch languages.
